The National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of Uzbekistan

Dear Bahá’í Friends,

The Universal House of Justice has received your email letter dated 10 April 2007 seeking guidance concerning the actions you propose to take regarding the situation in Bukhara. We have been asked to respond as follows.

It is noted that you have decided to send two members of the Executive Committee to Bukhara to meet with the members of the Bahá’í community in order to encourage them and explain the course of action that has been decided upon, and to meet with various officials there, including those in the court system or from the police, and submit to them a letter stating your position in relation to the payment of the fines. The House of Justice agrees with the approach you have outlined. In addition, it suggests that you also contact officials at the national level with whom you are acquainted and inform them of the situation, seeking their advice and comments.

With loving Bahá’í greetings,

Department of the Secretariat
